While everyone freaks over Nicki Minaj's Mitt Romney line, let's appreciate how amazing "Mercy" is

Nicki Minaj got tongues wagging when her feature on Lil' Wayne's Dedication 4 mixtape hit the web. Teaming up with Weezy for a Young Money take on G.O.O.D. Music's "Mercy," Nicki proclaims that she's "a Republican, votin' for Mitt Romney."

The blogs and media outlets ran with that line and immediately screeched that Nicki Minaj had betrayed her largely minority and liberal fan base.

Except she already claimed to be chilling with zombies in that same verse and for some reason, no one took that seriously. Go figure.

The Village Voice did a brilliant takedown of the whole "Nicki Minaj endorsed Mitt Romney" ridiculousness, so head over there and read it if you feel like hemming and hawing over what should be an obvious example of hyperbole.

The rest of us (including Nicki Minaj superfan Senator Marco Rubio) would like to get back to dissecting Nicki's spectacular verse on "Mercy."

Senator Marco Rubio is down with Nicki Minaj

Well this is a little odd. Somehow, Nicki Minaj got thrown in the mix with Washington politicians.

In a profile of newly elected Republican Florida senator and high profile Tea Party member Marco Rubio on ABC's Nightline, Rubio sheepishly admitted that he was a big Nicki Minaj fan. It sounds like Mr. Rubio might have a pink wig in his closet.

"I may not wanna tell you who my new favorite artist is...[*Interviewer: Nicki Minaj?*] She's really good tho...I'm just embarrassed cause...I'd probably hurt her record sales. She's good. She's funny."

Is that Barack Obama in short shorts parading at Brazilian carnival?

President's Obama's approval ratings may be down domestically, but it appears the rest of the world is still infatuated with 44. A bronzed, manscaped and toned Barack Obama look-a-like hit the streets of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil for a pre-carnival festa. Sporting all sorts of patriotic gear, including a pair of white short shorts with an eyebrow-raising crack designed on the crotch, his look-a-like seemed to serve as the shiny new thing in the procession. He was greased up, decorated and stripped down for public consumption like a sacrificial lamb on its way to slaughter. Chew on that simile for a bit.

This image is likely the first of many more to come from Brazil's carnival celebrations. With a population that is more than 49 percent black/mixed race, the election of a black president to highest position in the U.S. is undoubtedly a magnetic source of inspiration for Brazilian people of color. Which is great. But can we avoid sexing up the leader of the free world like some Ken doll? Obrigado.

Baila conmigo, Obama

CALIENTE! If you didn't know before, know this now: Barack Obama is a presidente who knows how to get down with el ritmo. The president was called out on the spot to baila un poquito with singer Thalia at the Fiesta Latina event in the White House last night. First, poetry jam sessions at the White House and now salsa night. Can't wait for breakdancing and doubledutch night at the White House. Sasha and Malia do a mean b-boy stance.

WWJD? Arizona pastor wishes death on Obama

It might be time to re-examine your church when your spiritual leader is calling for the quick and speedy death of the president of the United States of America.

Pastor Steven Anderson of the Faithful Word Baptist Church is blunt and unapologetic in his desire to see President Obama dead. He stated in a sermon last month, appropriately titled "Why I Hate Barack Obama," that he hopes President Obama dies of "natural causes." Why is this pastor so angry? Because he believes Prez Obama is evil incarnate and destroying God's America.

Pastor Anderson stands by his words, despite the predictable outcry calling for Anderson to rescind his words. Pastor Anderson says his statements are Biblical.

"Look, God does not love everybody," Anderson said in his aforementioned sermon. "In fact, there are even some people who God hates."

Well, guess what? The secret service isn't taking Anderson's words lying down. He's currently under investigation for calling for the president's death.

Mark Sanford: Jesus Make Me Over

I don't know if God is up to the task, but Gov. Mark Sanford, Mr. Ay Papi Chulo de Buenos Aires, is saying that he'll changes his ways. He's just waiting for God to do it for him. I know Jesus turned water into wine, but how can he turn mildewy, rotten excrements into classy, valuable pearls? Watch Sanford's "come to Jesus" moment below.

Babydaddy Johnston throws Sarah Palin under the bus again

Things are not going to be kosher at baby Tripp's next birthday party in Wasilla if this keeps up.

Levi Johnston, who has been on a media whirlwind tour this year, spoke to the media about his almost-mother-in-law's decision to peace out of the governorship of Alaska. His thoughts? Sarah Palin is looking to cash in on her fame. Ouch. Johnston said even before John McCain called on the self-proclaimed lipstick-wearing pitbull, that Mama Palin would come home and remark about how nice it would be to take the book deals and other lucrative projects that she was being offered and "run with it." Watch the interview.

You've got to hand it to Babydaddy Johnston. He's not letting the Palins get one newscycle over on him. The Palins' toes have to be blue and bruised from Levi stomping all over them at this point. Get that money, man!

White House Poetry Jam Sessions

You know your president is black when you hear that he's hosting a poetry/spoken word juke joint at the White House.

Talk about change, I'm sure half of America has never heard of, nor been to a poetry session. It's most likely considered a hippie, liberal, socialist  activity and as such, is not ENTERTAINED in the REAL AMERICA. But Barack and Michelle don't give a damn, and they've opened up the White House to the beatniks, poets and artists. Watch Mr. and Mrs. Obama introduce the event last night.

It's great that different people who've probably never felt a connection to the presidency, much less the White House, are actually being invited to engage and interact with our president. Barack, of course after this poetry jam, you know other minority groups will also want their own White House events. I can see it now: a White House drag show, a White House Quincenera, a White House Bar Mitzvah and a White House Pokemon tournament. You might've bought more than you bargained with this, Mr. President.
