Jennifer Lopez shines on the Idol stage, debuts new song "Going In"

Blazing hot Idol judge Jennifer Lopez took the stage during the American Idol finale to debut her new single "Going In" and perform her caliente collaboration with Wisin y Yandel, "Follow the Leader."

The dancers were on point and Jennifer had no problem dropping it low and backing that thing up. Have you even seen a mother of two move it like this?

Once again, if this is a taste of what J.Lo has in store for her tour, you better scoop up your tickets fast.

Jennifer Lopez is quite the anomaly. Unlike most pop stars, she actually gets better with age. Meanwhile, some of her peers, like Britney Spears, look more like they're 30 going on 60 when they hit the stage.

Performing "Dance Again" — the erotic dance floor banger that pretty much relishes in the fact that J.Lo no longer has a new set of bones to jump — the Puerto Rican bombshell lit up the stage in a dazzling Sasha Fierce leotard.

The leotard wasn't the only Beyoncesque thing about the performance either. The flowing hair extensions with the wind machine were noticeably snatched from Ms. Knowles repretoire, but J.Lo did the damn thing and Beyonce's on a semi-break at the moment so we'll take it.

More importantly, her high-production performance on American Idol was meant to serve as a trailer for the singer's upcoming first-ever English-language tour. If this was a taste of things to come, pop music fans can expect to leave their venue very satisfied this summer. Baila, mami, baila!

Jennifer Lopez plays hide and go seek with Wisin y Yandel in "Follow the Leader"

Well, since J.Lo is cutting ties with Marc Anthony, it makes sense that the Nuyorican pop star is looking to align herself with a new set of ambassadors in the Latino market.

In "Follow the Leader," Jennifer bridges the Latino-American divide by singing her parts in English while Wisin y Yandel hold it down in Spanish, which results in a border-friendly Spanglish song salad.

Since Jennifer has all the star power, she pretty much steals the scene and the song right out from under Wisin y Yandel the whole time.

And frankly, they really don't seem to mind. You wouldn't either, once you got a view of Jennifer's bawdy bent over in a pair skin-tight pants.

Jennifer Lopez lets her cougar show in "Dance Again" video

When celebrity splits happen, it's usually the man that goes out and gets a hot, young thing out of vengeance. But Jennifer Lopez, being a master of break-ups and hot young things, flips the script on tradition in this game of chess with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.

The video for her new single, "Dance Again," appears to be more about launching her sexually charged relationship with young cub Casper Smart, her 24-year-old dancer-choreographer who has since been upgraded to her lover.

Dancer and pop star relationships never work out. Britney and K-Fed went up in smoke. So did Janet Jackson and Rene Elizondo. Heck, Jennifer already traveled down this path with her rebound ex-husband Cris Judd, another dancer-choreographer who she also mistakenly upgraded to boyfriend status.

But back to the video. If you're looking for a high-energy club video from Jennifer, look elsewhere. Writhing, hair-flipping and body rolling get top billing this go-round. Jennifer's 40-plus body is smanging and she knows it.

Should J.Lo go back to American Idol next year?

On the one hand, American Idol has been an absolute plus as far as raising Jennifer Lopez's profile. Prior to her stint on Idol, J.Lo was mired in the stench of flop. Flop movies and a flop album, to be more specific. But with Idol, she got to wipe away all that muck and grime with her gig as a high profile judge.

On the other hand, doing a judging gig like Idol longterm doesn't bode well for a viable music career. Just ask JC Chasez and Lil' Mama, who've pretty much thrown in the towel as recording artists and now seem to have no ambitions beyond collecting a paycheck for their judging gigs on Randy Jackson's America's Best Dance Crew.

J.Lo was asked up front in an interview with BBC and she left her future role on the show ambiguous. For now, Jennifer says she's "on the fence" about returning next year.

Jennifer Lopez sets the floor on fire with blazing Idol performance

Jennifer Lopez is back. No ifs, ands or buts about it. After scoring a hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with "On The Floor," Jennifer finally proved that she still has what it takes to set the stage on fire when she performed the hit song during the results show on Idol.

In a carefully choreographed routine, Jennifer dropped it, popped it and rocked the crowd with every bit of spectacle she had in her possession. She managed to break glass, rise on an elevated podium and throw a hair flip with a burst of flames behind her all in one performance. Pitbull was also there to pump up the hype in his signature sports coat and shades.

The climax was Jennifer's eye-popping floor routine. The recent mother of two pounded the floor and got to humpin' around like Bobby Brown. Thank god this turned out so much better than when the last time an Idol judge took to the stage. Sorry, Paula.

Jennifer Lopez goes sightseeing in "I'm Into You" video

Jennifer Lopez packs her bags for a romantic getaway with telenovela star William Levy in the sunkissed video for her second single "I'm Into You." Filmed largely in Mexico, Jennifer Lopez poses in front of the iconic Chichen Itza, a Mayan temple in the Yucatan Peninsula.

The video alternates between Herb Ritts-esque black and white scenes on the beach that look like the ad for one of Jenny from the Block's latest line of perfumes. In other shots, it looks like a setup for a spread in Vogue magazine. There's no real plot for the video, just Jennifer Lopez as J.Lo.

Thankfully, with her relevance restored thanks to a hit song and Idol, a video that centers on nothing more than her high profile presence actually works.
