Nicki Minaj clashes with Funkmaster Flex on air over Summer Jam

Nobody puts baby in a corner, you understand? After leaving Hot 97 holding an empty bag last night after she pulled out of Summer Jam on Wayne's orders, Nicki Minaj headed straight to Funkmaster Flex's show to grab the bull by its horns.

While Flex was on that Summer Jam stage, he was talking real reckless about Hot 97 not messing with "commercial rappers" no more and how the streets weren't feeling Nicki's new music. He then vowed he would "destroy" her career on his show.

So imagine our shock and surprise when Flex instead boo hooed, simped and begged Nicki for forgiveness instead. All these bitches is her sons.

After landing a headlining spot in Hot 97's highly coveted Summer Jam concert, Nicki Minaj abruptly pulled out of the gig after Young Money's head honcho Lil' Wayne made the order.

The cancellation decision was made after Hot 97's DJ Peter Rosenberg's dismissive remarks about Nicki Minaj's "Starships" song surfaced.

"I see the real hip-hop heads sprinkled in here, I see 'em. I know there's some chicks here waiting to sing 'Starships' later, I'm not talking to y'all right now. F**k that bullshit," Rosenberg said.

In a time where some of the largest artists at the forefront of hip-hop aren't "gangsta," there has curiously been a revival in hip-hop "beef" recently. This is not necessarily the "beef" that we are all used to. Unlike Tupac's shots, which explicitly named his targets, today's beef is all about veiled subliminals that don't call out its targets by name.

Pusha-T launched a missile when he released "Exodus 23:1" featuring The-Dream, which carried these contentious references, which many took as shots at Drake.

"Contract all fucked up / I guess that means you all f--ked up / You signed to one n----, that's signed to another n----, that's signed to three n----s."

"Now that's bad luck / Damn that sh-t even the odds now / You better off selling this hard now / You call it living out your dreams / You can't fly without your wings."

Apparently Lil' Wayne, Young Money's head honcho, felt a certain way about Pusha T's words in the new song although neither his name or Drake's was ever exclusively mentioned.

Chris Brown smacks Rihanna around in "Theraflu" freestyle

Welp. Things sure have a way of souring quickly between Chris Brown and Rihanna.

After an in-your-face reunion campaign that saw Rihanna drive away droves of loyal fans, Chris Brown has repaid Rihanna's absolution kindness with a rude, crude, slut-shaming diss in his latest viral freestyle. The track, which Christopher released to the web, is his take on Kanye's "Theraflu" aka "Way Too Cold," and like Kanye, he doesn't hold back one bit on his ex.

Diplo doesn't hold back his feelings on Chris Brown, M.I.A.

If you thought Diplo was going soft just because he's working with mainstream artists like Beyonce, Usher and Chris Brown these days, think again.

In an intimate profile by Rolling Stone, Diplo reveals that while he respects Chris Brown, the artist, he doesn't think too highly of Chris Brown, the man.

"I do think he's an asshole – like, at the Grammys, he could have been more graceful. But he's an artist. He's good at what he does."

As for his ex-flame M.I.A., Diplo keeps the love/hate beef between them alive by slamming her middle finger stunt at the Super Bowl and unflinchingly panning her collaboration with Madonna on "Give Me All Your Luvin'."

"[The middle finger at the Super Bowl] was kind of stupid. I think her being on that Madonna song is kind of lame, and she was trying to make up for that. That song is such a flop."

This kind of candor won't win Diplo too many friends in Hollywood, but who needs showbiz friends anyway, right? The good news is that Chris Brown hasn't freaked out about this on Twitter — yet.

The Lil' Kim vs. Nicki Minaj wars have been violent and brutal, at times. But it appears that Kim is calling a ceasefire for now.

During a recent appearance on BET's 106 & Park, Kim dodged and refused to address any questions about the game's hottest femcee, Nicki Minaj.

“At the end of the day, this is about Kim right now. We gave you that movie already, you know what I’m sayin’. We movin’ on to a whole ‘nother direction and if it come back that way, then we give ya’ll another movie. But right now we moving into another direction. ‘Bout to drop some new singles for Queen Bee and Brooklyn,” said Kim.

Lil' Kim vs. Nicki Minaj: Kim fires more shots at Nicki on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live

The hip hop war of shade, verbal missiles and sassy comebacks between Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj is still going on strong in its 3rd year.

Lil' Kim was booked on the drama-baiting Bravo show Watch What Happens Live and of course Nicki Minaj was brought up. When asked who Kim thought was the most overrated artist on the scene, she coyly answered, "Fire Marshall Bill," and proceeded to mock Nicki's trademark exaggerated rapping style.

Kim was also asked about her thoughts on Nicki's song "Stupid Hoe," which takes shots at Kim again for the millionth time, and she closed the book on that chapter by saying, "If you have to make a song called 'Stupid Hoe' you must be a stupid hoe."

Chaka Khan did not like the idea of the Clive Davis party going on after Whitney's death

Chaka Khan, a longtime friend of the late Whitney Houston, didn't make an appearance at the Grammys for the Whitney tribute like many thought she would, but she did make an appearance on the Piers Morgan Show on CNN.

The singer spoke at length about her feelings and emotions on the singer, but she was particularly opinionated on the fact that Clive Davis kept his party going in the same hotel that Whitney passed away in a few hours earlier. In fact, Houston's body was still in the hotel as the party got underway.

"I thought that was complete insanity," Chaka said. "Knowing Whitney, I don't believe that she would've said, 'the show must go on'."

"I don't understand how that party went on," Chaka said in exasperation.
