Proving, like Jennifer Hudson, that being eliminated from a singing competition reality show isn't the end of the world, X Factor finalist Marcus Canty lays down some good ol' fashioned R&B in his new single, "Won't Make a Fool Out of You."
The earnest R&B jam will be featured on the Think Like a Man soundtrack and his upcoming debut album.
On the song, the Bowie, Md. native lays down gorgeous harmonies over stacked bassline. He also wears his nice guy heart on his sleeve: "I don't subscribe to the notion, every woman has a price / I don't have much game, you can see through / But if honesty's a quality, I won't make a fool out of you."
It's so wonderful to hear R&B music that isn't caught up in R. Kelly-style raunch or overcompensating braggadocio. "Won't Make a Fool Out of You" is just about old-fashioned wooing, the kind that promises to treat a woman with respect. Three cheers for gentleman Marcus Canty!
