While Nicki Minaj's accomplishments are numerous, one of the ones at the top of the list have to be the world domination she succeeded in pulling off with the dirty-talking but sweet-sounding "Super Bass."
Rye Rye, a Baltimore native and M.I.A. protégé, pulls from a similar cloth for her latest single, "Boom Boom." It is in no way a carbon copy of "Super Bass," as Rye Rye puts her stamp on the sunny track, which boasts a sample from the Vengaboys hit "Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom", but the street-but-sweet song structure and "I want you boy" lyrics nonetheless make it easy to draw parallels between the two.
In short, if you liked "Super Bass," you should love "Boom Boom." Female rappers are coming for the throne in 2012, y'all.
