In "Stupid Hoe," Nicki Minaj teams up with hip hop video legend Hype Williams for an eye-popping, technicolor, high budget, dress-up collage. The wigs and make-up change color frequently. There's Nicki in a pink wig, a black wig and a blonde wig. Oh, and there she is on all fours, throwin' it back like it was the night shift at Magic City. We've been here before with "Massive Attack," another Hype Williams and Nicki Minaj cartoon extravaganza.
And yet, this feels a little different. "Stupid Hoe" is by no means Nicki's best work, but the overall product has more intrigue than "Massive Attack" did.

As a video concept, it doesn't completely align with the song. It's really just a series of vignettes and special effects, except for the end where Nicki sings in her little girl voice and is transformed into an oddball, bug-eyed school girl. That part feels a little Missy Elliottesque, and that's a compliment.
As a song, "Stupid Hoe" is another one of Nicki's trash talking anthems. But it's hardly her sharpest. The disses here are all stuff we've heard from her before: Bitches is her sons, old flop bitches (Lil' Kim) should stay mad, Lil' Kim looks like a monkey, Nicki's filthy rich, pretty girls rock, etc.
The beat and stream of conscious nature of the song is all "Itty Bitty Piggy" and there's that extended linnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeee trick again from the "Till the World Ends" and "A$$" remixes. You can either take this as Nicki cementing her style with propaganda-like consistency or take it as Nicki running out of ideas and recycling her material.
Either way, "Stupid Hoe" feels like the appetizer to something more meaty to come from Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. If Nicki's proved anything in her short career, it's that people's initial reactions toward her can easily be turned around and she shouldn't be counted out too soon.
