Katy Perry and American Idol producers pulled a fast one on us. When Katy Perry started her performance of her hit single "E.T." on the chart-topping reality show, she started it off with the music video of Kanye West doing his intro rap, leaving the impression that he was unable to join her in person. But when it came around to his second verse, smoke filled the stage and out stepped Mr. West in a non-PETA-friendly fur vest. SURPRISE!
The performance was a spectacle, with Katy Perry trying her best to out-Gaga Lady Gaga in an intricate alien goddess costume complete with Christmas lights attached and a flowing cape. But unlike Gaga, Katy was visibly not as comfortable with the freak show attire. Katy seemed stiff and rigid as she pounced around the stage. She's admittedly not a dancer, but Katy could stand to relax a bit more on stage instead of looking so clenched.
